American Le Mans Series presents VIR 240

A way past due post, but we wanted to share some good coverage of the VIR 240, a 4-Hours ALMS race held at Virginia International Raceway over the summer.  The photos were taken by a fellow-blogger, Paul at Bushido.

Surprisingly, a lot of the parts that these factory-based GT cars use are available for purchase.  Flying Lizard Motorsports for example, sells a lot of their used body, suspension, and some engine parts through their web store; And a majority of other parts used by the race teams are factory available aftermarket parts.

As always, feel free to give us a call, or drop us a line to see if it's something we can get a hold of for you!

Moonface Racing Suspension Parts - Z33 / 350Z

We just received these incredible, insanely high-quality parts for a customer's Z33 from Moonface Racing.  While he tries to dial in his suspension pieces and alignment, these were some of the last remaining bits that were needed for the time being.  Shown below are Moonface Racing's Bump Adjust Tierod Ends (Part #STE14), Front Low Angle Adjusters (Part #SLD11), and Rear Low Angle Adjusters (Part #SLD12), along with some of his other JIC-Magic bits waiting be installed as well.

Something to mention about the tierod ends is that Moonface offers two different part #'s for the Z33; the STE14 is for stock thread-size inner tierods.  This worked out well for Paul, because he already had the JIC-Magic inner tierods sitting around waiting to be installed, which are the same thread as stock, just heftier.  However Moonface also offers separate inner tierods of their own which are thicker and have different thread-size, meant to be paired with their own outer tierods as well.  Together, those two part #'s would be STR13 (inner) and STE13 (outer).

Another thing to add, is that the STE14 Tierod Ends also fit the V35 / G35 as well as the BNR32/33/34.  Many times, these OEM tierod ends are used interchangeable anyways.  As for the Front Low Angle Adjusters, these also fit the V35 / G35, obviously.  And for the Rear Low Angle Adjusters, these actually fit the Z34 / 370Z, the V35 / G35, the V36 / G37, and the R35 GTR as well!

Lastly, below is a quick snap of mostly everything to be installed within a couple of weeks on Paul's Z.  Still awaiting some minor bolts, and other supporting install parts like steering bellows (boots), etc, there will soon be installation photos and explanations to come as well as to what all these parts actually do!  The other parts pictured in the below photo include JIC-Magic Inner Tierods which have been discontinued, JIC-Magic Adjustable Camber Arms which also have been discontinued, and JIC-Magic Adjustable Traction Rods which are still available.  Other than being way beefier than stock inner tierods, the JIC-Magic inners usually imply that more steering angle will be provided after install.  After researching, it seems that this might not be the case for this install, so some spacers may be installed along with the inner tierods in order to provide more angle.  More on that to come!

Of course, all of these parts are available through us here at SE-Performance!  So feel free to hit us up for any other questions you might have regarding these or other Moonface products, and for pricing quotes.
